Discover Your Dream Home
I wasn’t always in real estate.. I started working in restaurants as a teen and then being on my own immediately after high school graduation; I began attending community college while advancing into Restaurant Management. By the time I was 20, I was the General Restaurant Manager of a Pizza Hut and eventually earned an Associate Degree in Business Management. I soon married my husband, a member of the armed forces and moved out of state. We had our first child together and I worked different jobs to help make ends meet. My husband unfortunately injured his back after just a couple of years and ended his military career. When we moved back to PA I was fortunate enough to be able to go back to my Restaurant Management position and we were able to purchase our first home.
As our daughter was approaching school age, I knew I didn’t want to continue being away from home 50-60 hours per week, mostly nights and weekends. Family time was my number 1 priority and my husband and I were working opposite shifts and I didn’t want to miss another moment with my daughter. Of course there are many professionals that face this, especially in the medical field. If you’re saving lives, you have my utmost respect and gratitude. But I was missing out on family time over pizza! When all I wanted, was to be at HOME when my daughter was at home. So real estate was an easy decision for me, not only could I make my own hours, work from home and take my daughter along on appointments at times, but I could help others find their own perfect HOME! Having the encouragement of a family member in the business helped as well!
So in 2003 I embarked on this Real Estate journey. Many people don’t realize that Real Estate doesn’t exactly result in an immediate or regular pay check. So I transitioned gradually, keeping a restaurant position part time for a while. I was never Rookie of the Year, but I managed to steadily and gradually grow my business until I was far too busy to continue working my night job! Then recognizing the importance of furthering my education, I began taking specialized Real Estate courses as often as I could, earning designations and then ultimately attended broker courses in law, finance and investment. Another daughter, several rescue dogs and two broker licenses later (Pennsylvania and Delaware, ) I’m enjoying every day that I get to help others with a major life event. I’m grateful for the opportunity to help clients get through the process and on to their next chapter.
Having grown up in Eddystone and graduating from Ridley High School as well as Delaware County Community College, it was an obvious decision to work in the great Delco area. However the versatility and ease of mobility across county and even state lines here in the Philadelphia suburbs, it was also a natural progression to include Chester, Montgomery, New Castle and Philadelphia counties.
Whether you’re an investor buying a $17,000 shell, a move-up buyer selling your twin and trading up for a large single home , a downsizer selling that large single home and wanting the perfect condo in a 55+ neighborhood, a first time buyer looking for something you can move into but gradually improve and make your own over time, a buyer looking for a beautiful country like home on a large lot, or a transferee moving out of state for a career advancement, the one constant is that I will guide you through this process with patience, persistence, knowledge, experience , trustworthiness and dedication. Aside from my children, what I am most proud of is that over the last 12+ years of my career, is that clients have referred me to their children or parents over a dozen times and to other family members and close friends many other times, which is absolutely the biggest compliment & testimonial that I can possibly receive. I’m incredibly thankful to have earned such trust and confidence from the people I’ve had the pleasure of working with and will continue to work with!
I’ve always found that my real estate peers, mentors, office management/staff and our local REALTOR association have been a priceless support system offering encouragement, support, guidance and advice. I decided to run for the board of directors for our local association as one way of giving back. I was recently voted in, by my peers, as a director for 2016 and 2017 to the Suburban West Realtor Association for which I am both proud and honored. I am also an instructor for courses including Fair Housing & Real World Real Estate, which provides additional opportunities for me to give back. As a team leader, I'm also able to mentor newer agents and help them to transition into a Real Estate career!
